Revisiting and read my own comment LOL ... anyways, heavy gauge strings work ;). Even just a set of heavy bottom skinny top (10-52 i think) is what I've used for over a decade. The tone from heavier strings is just .. better IMO. As you can tell, most rock (any ROCK guitar genre) uses heavier gauges then yester year The trend seemed to spread from the 7 string/drop tuning bands. Along with the rise of E flat standard tuning. There are still ALOT of regular gauge players out there .. don't get me wrong.

Sounds decent, I'm not sure about "Outro Chorus" out of anything tho .... but I haven't exactly given it the pepsi challenge either....
***WHY*** do people say it was originally written on a 7 string guitar, and then post a tab that doesn't take advantage of the 7 strings ... ???
Again I really haven't given a A/B with the tab(s) and the studio track, but if you are hearing a note lower then E (6th string open octave) .. it is a good possibility its P-nut's 5 string bass. Just watched a video of this exact jam on youtube, and he (not surprisingly to me), had a *6* string. And from what I did catch him playing on the fretboard ... this tab does have the right idea and is def. enough to get a decent ear player off and running.
I just don't see the 7 string thing .. where the ferk did that story come from? It's annoying!
