It has been delightfully and faithfully transcribed here for Piano Solo by Feruccio B. Busoni. The piece opens with a somewhat imposing, serious theme which later returns at the middle and end of the piece. Held within these three formal junctures are Twenty-nine brief but spectacular variations, which are cumulatively magnificent.
